1. Tell us about company and product profile?

At SSI SCHAEFER, we create smart solutions and cutting-edge technologies for a state-of-the-art today and an advanced future for tomorrow.

Our portfolio includes manual and automated solutions for warehousing, conveying, picking and sorting, plus modular and regularly updated software for in-house material flows. In the Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern region, SSI SCHAEFER has been established for over 30 years, with established regional sales offices and 2 manufacturing plants spanning over 16 countries. 2. How is your company handling the current COVID-19 crisis?

For SSI Schaefer our employees' safety and well-being always comes first and even now amidst the pandemic which has disrupted life, public health and businesses alike in India and elsewhere. At present the crucial task before us is to save our most important asset i.e. our employees from the present hit and aftermath of this situation along with the business which is equally affected like all other businesses in the country are. As instructed and advised by our government our employees are working from home at the moment and being a service organisation despite the current challenges we are ensuring that we are available for our customers around the clock by phone, e-mail, and remote maintenance to ensure the continuity of essential support to our customers.

Since we are promoting and encouraging our employees to focus on themselves and their families at the moment so we are ensuring dedicated ‘work for home' hours so that there is a balance between their personal and professional life and they can also contribute to help in household work .We are conducting various virtual trainings to keep our employees motivated, engaged and utilise this time to get well equipped with the knowledge to handle the work ahead. Top management is in direct and regular touch with our employees through phone and video conferences to keep a check on their well-being as this is the time to be more empathetic, sensitive and tolerant.

3. How are you planning to carry forward in the post-corona world?

We are utilising this time in well planning for the operations and business ahead and revisiting our 5 years strategy to reach to the position we hope to attain in future post corona because we must always know and do things what we need to do today to achieve our objectives tomorrow. We are also working and ensuring our preparedness to complete all the existing projects in hand once we are back to normal post corona. SSI Schaefer is a strong brand, yet we are not feeling over-confident and ignoring the intensity of the situation and preparing ourselves well with the right plan and strategy to bounce back with the same strength. We hope that this crisis can bring people together and facilitate a collective spirit of endurance until we are back and strong on our tracks.
