Rhenus opens 350,000 sq ft sustainable warehouse in Gurugam

The world is reeling under the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, however, there are businesses, which have witnessed tremendous growth. E-commerce is one sector experiencing a surge in demand and further driving demand of Warehouses and Last Mile Delivery. Local and multi-storeyed warehouses are going to be popular in coming times. Furthermore, demand of storage spaces are going to increase dramatically due to the increased e-commerce activity.

Recently, Germany-based Rhenus Logistics has opened a new mega-warehouse in Gurugram, closer to the Delhi-NCR area. The 350,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility with a capacity of 30,000 pallet positions offers improved scalable storage options and solutions. It also includes 19 docks with dock levelers, and plans to implement proprietary warehouse management system (WMS) with EDI integration.

The new warehouse provides easy accessibility to Delhi and other parts of North India via the Jaipur Highway, the KMP (Kundli-Nabesar-Palwal Expressway), and further connects into the DMC (Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor). In line with sustainability, the new warehouse has green landscapes around the perimeter and common areas of the facility. In addition to that, solar roofs are installed and recharge pits and measures to recycle STP treated water are implemented.
