Amazon India announces launch of third Fulfilment Centre in Gujarat
As per reports, Amazon India has announced the launch of a new Fulfilment Centre (FC) in Ahmedabad. This is a third fulfilment centre in the state of Gujarat, which is spread over more than 2 lakh square feet area, the new FC will help sellers offer a wider selection within the region and neighbouring states.
Amid the coronavirus, pandemic, e-commerce players are witnessing a surge in demand, which is further driving demand of warehouses and storage space. With festive season round the corner, online shopping will further accelerating generating demand for more fulfilment centres.
With this infrastructure expansion, Amazon.in will now offer storage capacity of more than 1.5 Million cubic feet across 3 fulfilment centres to its more than 80,000 sellers in Gujarat. Amazon recently launched a new sort centre and expanded the capacity of an existing sort centre to ensure faster and reliable deliveries for customer orders in Gujarat.
According to Amazon India, Gujarat is an important market and with this expansion, SMBs in Gujarat will benefit both in terms of economic growth and reach to a wider customer base. This investment and new infrastructure will help in catering to the growing demand from customers amid the raging pandemic while creating thousands of job in the state.
