Mars Wrigley introduces sustainable packaging
According to news reports, US-based food products manufacturer Mars Wrigley has joined hands with standardised labelling system provider How2Recycle to create a more sustainable packaging option for its Orbit Gum.
The Orbit Mega Pack, which includes 30 pieces features an outer plastic package that can be recycled in around 50% of recycling streams in the US, with more locations to be made available in future. The product is available for purchase across retailers and offered in Peppermint and Spearmint flavours. Moreover, it comes with How2Recycle’s on-pack step-by-step guide on how to recycle each part of the pack.
The new initiative is in line with the sustainability effort of Mars Wrigley’s to transform its packaging portfolio and make it fully reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025.
