Dixon plans to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones in India

Padget Electronics, a subsidiary of Dixon Technologies has recently entered into a partnership to manufacture Nokia Smartphones in India for HMD Global, as per reports. The firm is hopeful that with their vision and stringent industry-leading processes, along with their expertise in manufacturing, they will be able introduce a new range of Nokia smartphones to customers.

Dixon's wholly-owned subsidiary, Padget Electronics, has signed an agreement with Motorola for manufacturing of smartphones. The products will be manufactured at Padget's manufacturing facility situated at Noida, Uttar Pradesh, according to the company. India is attracting global brands to invest and set-up manufacturing facilities further strengthening its position as a manufacturing powerhouse.

Padget Electronics is one of the five Indian companies which have been approved to receive incentives for incremental production of mobile phone handsets under the Centre’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.

Additionally as per reports, Dixon has invested Rs 75 crore for setting up its eleventh manufacturing plant in Noida, making it its third dedicated factory for assembling mobile handsets.
