Russia & India in talks to manufacture additional military equipment, reports

According to leading news website, Russia and India are in discussions to manufacture additional Russian military equipment in India.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov & India's Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar jointly held a news conference, where this was proposed by the Russian foreign minister. As per reports, officials from both countries have stated that their governments have been discussing for some years the possibility of making Russian military helicopters in India.

Russia is determined towards the goal of developing of military-technical cooperation and there was an inter-governmental commission dealing with the same, as Russian minister. In addition, the prospects for additional production of Russian military equipment on India’s territory are under discussion.

In the past, India has produced Russian MiG fighter planes and Su-30 jets under license and the two countries have come together to develop and produce supersonic BrahMos cruise missiles in India.
