BillerudKorsnäs introduces high strength kraftliner for corrugated packaging
When it comes to packaging, corrugated boxes are turning out to be the most coveted in the times of COVID-19. Due to features such as safety and recyclability, the demand of corrugated packaging is increasing and is expected to grow further in the near future.
BillerudKorsnäs- The Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer has launched a high strength white top kraftliner for the corrugated industry. According to the company, the new products boasts performance combined with high strength, good printability and packaging material reduction through its 3-ply construction with optimized fiber properties. It is produced by the company’s modern KM7 board machine.
In addition to that, the top ply contains well distributed short white fibers optimised for printability; the bottom ply has unbleached long fibers for strength; and the middle ply is used to create bulk in order to maximize stiffness and minimise washboarding.
