Coca-Cola plans to shift to green packaging

Soft drink giant Coca-Cola is stepping up its packaging game by taking care of its plastic problem. As per an annual survey, beverage companies are major contributors of plastic pollution across the world.

In line with the same, Coca-Cola is trying to check on the plastic pollution by introducing it’s first-ever paper bottle.

As per reports, the company is planning will to collect and recycle a bottle or can for every one they sell by 2030. They also plan on substantially reducing their use of virgin packaging materials and only use packaging materials that are 100% recyclable. Keeping that in mind, the firm is working with partner to Paboco to explore the concept of a paper bottle.

Coca-Cola aims to create a paper bottle which can be recycled like any other type of paper. This prototype is the first step towards their aim to check plastic usage. With the arrival of paper bottle, whole new world of packaging possibilities open up. Paper packaging is set to play a significant role in cutting down plastic pollution and driving sustainability.
