PLI Scheme for electronics manufacturing to be extended by one year – Reports
In June, Hon’ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made an announcement that that the tenure of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for large scale electronics manufacturing had been extended by one year.
Earlier, this scheme was beginning in 2020-21 and continued for a period of 5 years. Now as per the FM, this scheme is going to continue till 2025-26.
Participating companies will get any five years for meeting their production targets under the scheme. Initially, the incentives were applicable while taking the base year of 2019-20, however, incremental sales was not achieved owing to the disruption caused by covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.
