Robotic start-ups give fillip to manufacturing in India

The COVID-19 situation has helped businesses in understanding their weaknesses. The global pandemic has exposed shortcomings in the way companies operate and have further driven them to re-think and find solutions to overcome any future adversity. In wake of the current scenario, it is expected that Automation and Robotics in manufacturing in India is also going to gain traction.

According to a report by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) published last year, around 3,412 new industrial robots were installed in India in 2017 — an increase of 30 per cent over the 2,626 units that were installed in 2016. The automotive industry saw the highest adoption.
