Samsung to relocate parts of Display Manufacturing from China to India, according to report

India is gearing up to become the next ‘Manufacturing Hub’. With many global brands looking up for shifting base from China, India is in a good position to capitalise on this opportunity. Presently, South Korea based-Samsung is looking to invest around Rs 54 Billion in setting up this manufacturing plant. In addition to that, it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Uttar Pradesh Government in 2019.

Samsung is planning in setting up a display manufacturing unit in India’s Uttar Pradesh. As of now, almost zero manufacturing of display panels takes place in India.

According to Reuters, in a report mentioned that it has seen a letter written and sent by Invest India to the government of Uttar Pradesh. In the letter, the body has recommended to incentivise Samsung Display for setting up manufacturing plant in the state. Furthermore, Samsung also has a mobile manufacturing facility, which is located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
