BHEL sets up Make in India Business Development Group to push Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative
Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission is getting another major push by the engineering PSU BHEL. Recently, the PSU announced that it has created a new vertical named ‘Make in India’ (MII) Business Development Group, according to news report.
The newly developed vertical has the core responsibility of finding out about the products currently being imported by the company as well as the country, which can be developed or manufactured by BHEL. In addition, it will identify opportunities for increased in-house manufacturing in the company and work with global OEMs for ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.
BHEL is looking forward to developing and manufacturing items currently being imported by the company to cater to the domestic demand of the nation and enable increase in exports.
Moreover, the PSU is also planning for the development and manufacture of major items in the country’s engineering imports basket and working with global OEMs for manufacturing items for India.
