Government plans to turn India into an automobile manufacturing hub: Nitin Gadkari

At a recent virtual conference organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Karnataka State Council, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways & MSME said the government is working towards making India a manufacturing hub for automobiles in the coming five years.

In addition, Union Minister also asked the automobile industry to cut down the prices of Electric Vehicle (EV), which will further drive the sales of electric vehicles. India is at the cusp of becoming one of the largest Electric Vehicle (EV) market in the world as the government continues to push for EV adoption, he commented.

Rising pollution levels across big cities and environmental concerns are stressing on the adoption of EVs. He also mentioned that keeping the quality of the vehicles intact as good quality vehicles at reduced costs will help the industry gain from the sales.
