Vivo confirms its manufacturing plan for India

As per news reports, Smartphone manufacturer Vivo recently announced it will manufacture its mid-range V20 SE smartphone in India, pledging to support the government’s national ‘Make in India’ initiative.

As per the announcement, Vivo India stated that the smartphone will be made in the city of Greater Noida, a move that is a continuation of the company’s support of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ programme. The government of India is pushing agendas like Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India to put the Indian economy on the path to recovery.

The company’s unit in Greater Noida employs 10,000 employees. The company also highlighted the state of Rajasthan as a key shipment driver for the manufacturer, accounting for more than 7% of Vivo’s total business in India. It has a network of over 4,000 retailers and 50 speciality stores in the state.
