Consumer preference shifting to chocolate gifting-Chocolate Players

In the first of the year, chocolate and confectionery segment witnessed challenging times owing to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, which disrupted the supply chain across sectors. However, according to companies, the worse it over and they are witnessing positive consumer sentiment and demand is growing in second half of the year.

In view of the same, top Chocolate players have expanded their portfolios with new launches targeted at the gifting segment and reconfigured offerings complementing evolving consumer trends.

Mondelez India has reconfigured their offerings to suit the new normal such as expanding their gifting portfolio with different SKUs and brands.

To capitalise on the expected growth, brands like Zydus Wellness has entered into the premium dark chocolate category with the launch of Sugar Free D’lite chocolates. Over the years, companies have been betting on the shift in consumer preference from conventional sweets to chocolate gifting. In the wake of the same, Ferrero India launched its more affordable gifting brand Ferrero Rocher Moments ahead of the festive season in 2020.
