AIPMA recommends Ministry of MSME to ban import of plastics finished goods from China

All India Plastic Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) has always been at forefront with other industry associations in vociferously representing to the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers Government of India for not accepting any demand to levy an additional import duty of 15% in form of COVID Tax on polymers (raw materials) based on logical justifications based on facts.

AIPMA was able to convince Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers to maintain status qo and not to recommend any increase in import duty of polymers.

During their meeting with Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon. Minister of MSME, Govt. of India was requested to restrict import of plastics finished goods from China. As per the request Ministry of MSME has recommended Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GOI to ban import of plastics finished goods from China.
