Garnier plans to stop using virgin plastic for packaging by 2025

According to news reports, Cosmetics brand Garnier announced recently that it plans to stop using virgin plastic for all packaging by 2025. In addition, the company plans to turn its factories and manufacturing units carbon neutral by 2025 with the use of renewable energy. Global brands are all set to cut down the use of plastic and are shifting towards sustainability in the manufacturing and packaging process.

Garnier is a popular cosmetic brand of French cosmetics company L'Oreal for mass consumers. With the use of reusable, recyclable or biodegradable materials in all packaging, the company is gearing up to save 37,000 tonnes of plastic every year under its sustainability programme.

Further, from 2022 onwards, all plant-based and renewable ingredients used by the company for their products will be sourced sustainability. Under the sustainability initiative, the company is also collaborating with suppliers and the communities and has partnered with Plastics For Change to help with the social impact of plastic pollution.
