Dow, Lucro and Marico come together to aid in circular packaging solutions in India
As per reports, Dow and Lucro Plastecycle, an Indian recycling company & Marico Limited, India’s popular consumer goods companies have come together to form a tripartite partnership to launch Dow’s PCR-based coalition shrink films into Marico's line of consumer products.
This partnership will help Dow to meet its new sustainability target of stopping waste by collecting 1 MMT of plastics to be collected, reused or recycled by 2030. Recently, Dow and Lucro also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and introduce polyethylene (PE) film solutions. In addition, Dow will help Lucro develop recycled film for various applications.
As Marico Limited became a part of this tripartite partnership, it will help Dow in fulfilling its strategy to facilitate a circular economy for plastics by focusing on integrating recycled content into product offerings ensuring that product’s values are maximized and extended across its lifecycle from creation to use to disposal.
It is expected that Dow’s virgin resins in combination with Lucro’s PCR is aligned with Dow’s strategy of designing products for circularity and implementing recycling solutions is going to provide new life for used plastics.
